Applied Kinesiology
Applied Kinesiology is a simple muscle testing technique used for both diagnosis and treatment selection. Kinesiology theory assumes that structural health is a good indicator of overall health and that imbalance may occur in any or all of the chemical, mental or structural components of the body.
During a session the health care professional tests the strength of a muscle while asking a question of the innate intelligence body. The patient is asked to maintain strength in a limb as the physician gently applies pressure while asking the question. The answer to the question is either positive or negative, depending on whether the muscle remains strong or becomes weak.
Kinesiology is noninvasive, natural, and painless. It is also the basis for other holistic systems such as Total Body Modification.
