Yoga Classes

Yoga Classes

Yoga is the ancient Indian science that provides a means to unify mind/body/spirit in the individual and to unify individual being with universal being. Yoga includes a series of stretching and bending exercises and postures (called asanas) as well as breathing exercises, meditation and intellectual knowledge. When most people use the word Yoga they mean Hatha Yoga which focuses on the exercises, postures and breathing exercises.

The postures are performed without strain or pressure, sometimes in conjunction with breathing exercises. These movements exercise the muscles, massage the glandular system, balance the endocrine system, and soothe the nervous system. Aside of the more obvious benefits from the practice, such as a more limber and toned body, Yoga has been known to relieve both mental and physical stress and tension. It can also used to relieve chronic pain. Many Yoga practitioners report feeling more centered and tranquil and experience a greater sense of well-being.
